Some of the finest visual
artists in Boulder will open their studios to the public for the
thirteenth year of Open Studios this fall. During the first two weekends
of October, this self-guided art tour showcases more than 100 local
artists, including sculptors, painters, photographers and more, who open
their private studios to the public. This year, three Pine Brook Hills
artists are participating: Caren Paul, Ellen MacLaren Caukin and Jean
Watson.
More than 4,000 people are expected to make more than 65,000 studio visits
this year. Visitors are encouraged to question the artists
about particular aspects of their work and
their artistic process. The artists also display completed works, which
may be purchased.
A full
color, calendar-style Guidebook with a studio map will be for sale at
several Front Range locations for $16. Purchase is NOT required to
participate in the tour, which is free and open to the public, but makes
the tour easier and helps support Open Studios, a not-for-profit
organization. |

During the two weekends, bright yellow Open Studios signs will be planted
on many Boulder roads, directing visitors to the various studios. Each
sign includes a studio number and arrows, so you can easily find
particular artists. An exhibit of each participating artist’s work will
also be hanging in the Canyon Gallery of the Boulder Public
Library from September 14 through October 14. |

WHEN:
Noon – 6:00 p.m.
October 6-7; October 13-14
In addition, there will be a free Artists’ Reception for the public at
the Library on October 5, from 7 pm to 9 pm.
